I have always loved pictures. I find truth in the clichés “every picture tells a story” and “a picture is worth a thousand words.” I love being able to look through the camera and pick the story I want to tell. It’s been this way for me for as long as I can remember. Photography has always allowed me to capture a feeling or emotion that I was not able to express with words. I apply that philosophy – to capture and express something that words cannot – to everything I photograph.
Mostly I love to work with nothing more than my camera,
playing with the shadows and natural light.
This approach allows me to create images that are very often dramatic
and always authentic, images that feel as though
I’ve stumbled upon a very private moment.
Most of those moments I capture in animals both domestic and wild. I have been dedicated to helping animals throughout my entire life, working with various animal shelters, rescues and welfare organizations over the years. In 2009, I wrote and photographed “Loveabulls; Life and Love with Rescued Bullies”, a coffee table book that raised thousands of dollars to benefit the Pit Bull Initiative at Best Friend Animal Society in Utah.
Additionally, having spent nearly 15 years as a dog trainer, I am able to combine my extensive understanding of animal behavior with my natural ability to relate to them and thus capture their true essence in my photography.
Every image, no matter the subject, is carefully fine-tuned into something more than just a photograph, it becomes a beautiful piece of fine art photography.
I am located in Bergen County, NJ where I share my life with my husband and six rescued animals.
Thank you so much for visiting, I hope we get to meet soon!
